Support Will Change Your Life for the Better

Have you ever been alone in the world? Without help or support from your families? You might not have done things to the best of your ability without their reinforcement. Others support can change the outcome of almost anything. Some families think that their family members don’t need support, that they can do it on their own. However, other’s support can help you be more confident, and help you speak up for your rights.

Being confident requires belief and support from someone. For instance, if a kid gets up in front of people and say, openly about what they believe and no one agrees with them, they might clam up and shut down. On the other hand, if one person says they agree, then they’ll keep going and prove their point, exactly like writing this paper. Also when I went to the GT meet we had to share our opinions about other topics and about our own topics and I didn’t share at all until after lunch. When other people helped me, they said I could do it and not to be nervous, it helped I ended up talking a lot and enjoying it!

Having support from family and friends can help you speak up for what you believe in. For example, before going to the GT general assembly I was very nervous to speak in front of all the 7th and 8th graders, but my mom and Mrs. Floyd believed in me and told me I could do it, and I did. Another situation when support changed the outcome of thing was with Malala, a Pakistani girl, who stood up to the Taliban and nearly died from it but she changed many people’s lives for the better.

An unknown author said, surround yourself with people who push you, who make you better, and who support you. Support from people can help you be confident, and help you speak up for what you believe in.
